Shane Gebauer, the general manager of Brushy Mountain Bee Farm, stars in this DVD on how to extract honey. Everything is shown in real time. Both radial and tangential extractors are covered, along with heated and unheated uncapping knives and a sideliner hand cranked uncapper. Over sixty minutes.
Honey Bees and Beekeeping, Parts I & II. (University of Georgia)
This DVD is based on the book, “A Year in the Life of an Apiary.” It features University of Georgia professor and beekeeper Dr. Keith Delaplane. It consists of eight half-hour TV shows that originally aired on Georgia Public TV. Four hours.
An Introduction to Beekeeping: A Step-by-Step Guide with Ed Weiss.
This is the best introduction to beekeeping by most accounts. It is the DVD we show at the bee booth at the Rodeo. Everything you need to do for the first year of beekeeping is covered in this professionally produced DVD. A must-see.
Keeping Bees & Producing Honey. (Brushy Mountain)
This is a beginner’s introduction to beekeeping hosted by Steve Forrest, owner of Brushy Mountain Bee Farm. It contains over two hours of instruction in hive assembly, basic management, essential equipment and feeding your bees. Approximately two hours.
The Magic of Mead. (Brushy Mountain)
In this one-hour long DVD, Steve Forrest, owner of Brushy Mountain Bee Farm, takes you step-by-step through the process of making mead from honey. One hour.

Requeening & Colony Division. (Brushy Mountain)
This DVD takes you to five different commercial beekeepers to see how they requeen and make colony divisions. Approximately sixty minutes.
Tales from the Hive. (NOVA)
This DVD is from the acclaimed NOVA special that originally aired in 2000 on PBS stations throughout the United States. Special camera work follows the bees while they are inside the hive. Only an observation hive can begin to approach the never-seen-before views of how bees behave while inside their hive. This is not a “how to” DVD, but it could well become your favorite beekeeping DVD.
